BELKYRA™ is an injectable aesthetic product, similar to Juvederm and Botox Cosmetic, which are also manufactured by Allergan. It contains deoxycholic acid and is known as Belkyra Injectable in Canada, where it has received approval from Health Canada. This safe injectable substance has been scientifically proven to effectively reduce and potentially eliminate excess fat under the chin, commonly known as a double chin or submental fullness.

A double chin can be a hereditary factor, even an aggressive diet and exercise may not result in satisfactory chin fat removal. In the past, medical treatment generally involved surgical removal using a liposuction technique.

At Vanguard Medical & Aesthetic Clinic, treatment is performed by an experienced injector. It begins with an examination, review of your medical history, and consultation.

Some patients experience swelling, bruising, or numbness, but these side effects are temporary. The doctor will talk with you about other less common but possible side effects.

The quantity and placement of multiple small injections and the number of sessions (three treatments, spaced at least a month apart) are tailored to your needs.
